You know when you hear that self harmers are "Emo" or "attention seeking"? Well that's not necessarily true. It's not a joke. It takes a lot to get to the point of turning the pain in your mind into physical pain. When you stand there, laughing at them and taking the piss out of them, you're just making them feel more ashamed, making them pull down their sleeves and put on trousers instead of shorts. You're pushing them deeper and deeper into a hole and if you don't watch out, that hole will become their grave...

To the people who bully self harmers

Do you know why people cut? Do you really? It's a distraction. For someone so desperate to as to hurt themselves intentionally, you don't feel the pain or the loss or the hurt or the grief. All you feel is that razor digging into your skin, that lighter cooking your flesh, that knife carving words and symbols into it. All you an feel is the blood dripping down your arm, leg or stomach. You don't think about your weight or you loneliness or your looks. You don't care about what people say about you behind your back. You don't think about your family's issues or your "friends" hating you. All you can think about is the blood. The addicting part? That's when all the pain and sorrow comes back. As the wounds heal, you can feel the loneliness and depression building back up, so you have to do it again. Only this time, a little deeper so the numbness stays longer. A little longer before it all comes back and hits you like a ton of bricks. The pain inside is delayed longer. As the pain on the inside gets worse, you have to make the pain on the outside worse. Otherwise it doesn't suffice. You see, it's all about control. You want it. You can't control the pain on the inside, so you try and control the pain on the outside. That's the real reason people self harm.
And usually, it's people like you who caused it.
